Ketupat Palas is a type of dish normally served during Eid celebration. However nowadays you can get them all yer round in some places in Malaysia.
It is made of leaf from a type palm tree called Palas. You will need to learn the art of making the ketupat, as it is not an easy job to turn the leaf, and making it into shape before filling it with half-cooked glutinous rice or pulut.
Delicious to eat on its own, the ketupat is always served with rendang or serunding.

Raya Korban 1430 @ 2009
Aidil Adha menjelma dua minggu selepas pemergian Abah.

Sekitar Aidilfitri 1430H / 2009
This may be the last Aidilfitri in Sydney. Here are few pictures taken on the first day of Raya. As usual, when it comes to our house, everybody forgot to take some pictures.
We performed solat sunat at Malaysia Hall. Then straight to Abg Lan's house as usual. But this year it was less crowded. Our so called 'geng' has been shrinking in terms of members as some have gone back for good to Malaysia. After that we went to Kak Laila's house.
We did not go to the MSD's raya celebration at MyHall that afternoon. They said a lot of people were there and you have to get into a long queue just to have a plate of food. We went home and prepared the food as we have invited some friends over to our house. The delicacies were nasi minyak, khermuk ayam, acar and kuah kacang made by Dr Rozlin, whereas the rendang and pulut together with nasi impit were special from yours truly.
